Tenants can view their bond, update their contact details and manage their preferred contact method online using Bond Hub.

If you are a tenant, you can access your bond information and update your contact details online.

Keeping your contact details up to date is the best way to make sure we can process your bond refund faster at the end of your tenancy.

You do not need to register with Bond Hub, but you do need to verify your personal details to get access.

You can:

  • view your bond to check details of your bond record
  • update your contact details and choose your preferred method of contact.

If you want to do both you will need to access the system once to view your bond and again to update your contact details.

Before you start

You will need to enter:

  • your tenant number
  • your last name
  • your email address or mobile number.

We will match this in our system to verify you. If we can not verify you based on this, we will ask you for some more information:

  • your bond number
  • tenancy address
  • tenancy start date

Once we verify you, we will send you a notification with a link and a one-time access code. Click the link and enter your tenant number. You will be able to either view your bond or change your contact details, including your preferred method of communication.

Tenant numbers

Tenants can find their tenant number on correspondence with Tenancy Services, it looks like Tenant-12345678.

If they cannot find it, they can email bonds@tenancy.govt.nz or phone us on 0800 836 262 (0800 TENANCY). Do not reply to this email address as this will cause delays.

Tenant numbers are unique for each tenancy. Tenants should keep their tenant number safe and not share it with anyone, including their landlord or other tenants.

What happens next

If you have changed your contact details you will get a notification to confirm that your contact details have been updated.

You do not need to notify us separately of any changes to your contact details, but you do need to notify your landlord.
