White text reads ‘Before you begin, register to use Bond Hub’. Below the text the website address mybond.tenancy.govt.nz is shown.] Before you begin, you’ll need to be registered to use Bond Hub. If you haven’t registered yet, see our website for information or watch the How to register for Bond Hub video. [Visual: A green background screen is shown. White text reads: Before you begin, make sure you have everything ready. This includes the correct tenant details, the tenancy address, the correct bond amounts and payment information. You’ll be able to pay yourself by credit or debit card, or internet banking, or you can nominate a tenant to pay. [Visual: The Bond Hub sign in screen appears on a white background. The ‘Sign in’ option is selected.] Sign in to Bond Hub using your RealMe, Microsoft, or Google account. The screen transitions to the Landlord dashboard.] From the Landlord dashboard, go to Lodgement requests and select New lodgement. [Visual: The Landlord dashboard is shown. The screen transitions to a page showing the landlord name and Landlord ID already filled in.] Confirm you’re using the correct landlord name and Landlord ID for this bond. Next, enter the address for the tenancy. [Visual: The tenancy address section appears, showing options to select an existing address or create a new one. The ‘Create tenancy address’ option is selected.] You can select an existing tenancy address, or enter a new one, by selecting Create tenancy address. If you’re creating a new tenancy address, enter the dwelling type, number of bedrooms, and the property address. If the address doesn’t appear, select Provide my own address and enter it manually. [Visual: The address fields are shown with an address being entered manually.] Select Submit, then select Next. [Visual: The tenancy details screen appears. Fields for tenancy start date and weekly rent are shown being completed.] Enter the tenancy details, including the tenancy start date and weekly rent. Select Submit to continue. [Visual: The bond details screen appears, showing options to select bond types and fields to enter amounts.] Now choose the types of bond you’re lodging and enter the amounts. This could be a general bond, a pet bond or both. [Visual: The tenant information screen appears. The ‘Add tenant’ button is selected and tenant details are entered.] Next, add all tenants who are linked to this bond. Select Add tenant, then enter their details. When you’ve added all required tenants, select Next. Now select who will make the bond payment. [Visual: The payer selection screen appears. The option showing the landlord paying is selected.] If the tenant is paying, select Yes. To be able to pay, the tenant must have an email address listed in their contact information. Choose the tenant who will pay, then select Next. If you, as the landlord, are paying the bond, select No, then select Next. [Visual: The review and declaration screen appears. The page scrolls down to show all entered information. The declaration checkbox at the bottom is selected.] Review all the information you’ve entered for the bond lodgement. If something isn’t correct, use the Back button to return to the relevant screen and make changes. When everything is correct, tick the declaration box to confirm the information is accurate, then select Submit. If you’re paying the bond as the landlord, you’ll be prompted to proceed to payment. You can pay by credit or debit card, or by internet banking. [Visual: he payment screen appears showing the total amount to pay. The ‘Proceed to payment’ button is selected. A payment method is chosen and payment details are entered.] If the tenant is paying, they’ll receive an email with a link to complete the payment. After payment is made, a receipt is sent to the email entered on the payment screen and a confirmation notification is sent to the landlord and all the tenants with the details of the bond.
