From 11 February 2021, tenants and landlords can apply for their personal details to be removed from Tenancy Tribunal records if certain conditions are met.
If the tenant/landlord is successful or partly successful in their Tribunal claim, they can apply for a suppression order.
Tenants can select an option for suppression of their name and personal details when completing the Tenancy Tribunal application form.
Additionally, the Tribunal itself can remove personal details from records if it believes that is in the interest of the party.
When a party applies for suppression, the Tribunal will grant it unless it considers that publication is in the public interest or is justified because of the party’s conduct (or any other circumstances of the case).
