When lodging a Tenancy Tribunal application, one of the simplest ways to help your case move quickly is to make sure the party names and contact details are accurate.

Getting these details right at the start reduces avoidable delays, prevents confusion, and helps your application progress through mediation or adjudication without unnecessary follow ups.

What to check before you submit your application:

  • Use legal names, not trading names.
  • List companies exactly as they appear on the Companies Register. You can copy names directly from the register to make sure you’ve got the correct spelling and structure.
  • Record tenant names exactly as shown on the tenancy agreement.
  • Confirm the correct legal landlord. The managing agent may be the point of contact, but the legal landlord might be a trust, company, or individual.
  • If a trust is involved, name them correctly and list all trustees.
  • Keep names consistent across all documents to avoid mismatches.

Help Mediation run smoothly by:

  • providing up to date phone numbers and email addresses
  • including 1 clear contact person for the property manager (the primary contact)
  • letting us know in advance if there are dates you will be unavailable. We may not always be able to meet requests, but knowing this information will help us minimise delays and keep the process moving smoothly.

These are small steps, but they make a meaningful difference in reducing avoidable delays and keeping cases moving efficiently.
